They were always way too small to perform meaningful inspections maintenance was next to impossible and the edges were often sharp and unsafe. The minimum access door should be 18 by 16 inches 457 by 406 mm when duct size permits. For dampers that are too large for an ordinary person s arm to reach from the outside of the duct to reset the damper and replace the link the access size should be 24 by 16 inches 610 by 406 mm to allow a person to enter the duct.

We manufacture both non fire rated doors as well as a 1 5 hour fire rated access door. 22g galvanised steel flanged frame for strength. The non fire rated doors come hinged or double cammed galvanized or stainless steel and can be made square rectangular or round.
