Pull the old door seal away from the door to remove it.
Fix door seal.
Rinse the weather stripping thoroughly with just water and a non sudsy cloth or sponge.
Push the seal into place by pressing the lip of the new seal over.
Using a soft sponge or cloth gently scrub the seals with soapy water to remove all dirt and grime.
Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the seal on the hinge side to help prevent the seal from folding in when the door is closed.
The seal of a door helps keep the air inside your home and the air outside of your home separate.
Position a new door seal over one of the corners on the top of the door.
In a couple of days or less it will be the original size and condition.
Wipe off any extra silicone oil with a clean cloth and reinstall it.
Once they are dry to the touch you can close the doors and go about business as usual.
Repair a gap in the corner of the door gasket by grasping the gasket at the corner of the door and pulling it away from the channel to expose several inches in the corner.
Then allow the seals to air dry thoroughly with the doors open.
The seal needs to be reconditioned.
Before cutting your dried seals remove the weaterstripping seal put it in a plastic bag and saturate it with spray silicone then seal the bag.
